Well it has been a while since I have posted not because nothing has happened during this time (the exact oposite is true) but that life has been busy. With full time teaching and several clinic visits time seems to fly by.

The last time I posted Matt and I were heading into our second IUI procedure with fingers crossed that it would be the last time I would have to go through that procedure and we would be left with 'positive' news.

Since that time we have had two more IUI procedures. The third IUI procedure followed the same procedure as the first two and as well followed with the same results. A big fat NEGATIVE.

The doctor suggested that we try another cycle but this time with a medicated cycle. Knowing that we were slowly making our way through this inferility journey.

When the next cycle came along the doctor started me right away on gonal f which had a much larger price tag then the clomid we had been prescribed in the earlier cycles. Also, it was no longer in the form of a pill but in a pen (needle). Previously, I had Matt give me the Ovidrel shots that I needed to do at home during the first three iui cycles. But this time this was not a one time a cycle shot but daily. I had to learn how to do it myself. It took some time but I got to the point where I was administering my own needles. (I would have never thought that would be me two years ago).

We went in for our 4th IUI procedure once the medication I was taking produced 1 mature follicle and I had taken ovidrel to release the egg. And the wait began.

Two weeks past and once again it was unsuccessful.

Good thing Matt took me to Niagara on the Lake for two nights to get a nice massage and my mind off of this difficult time.
