An Inconceivable Journey 

June 2012 - Matt and I decided that we were ready to start a family.

 

October 2012 - Found out we were expecting! Had an ultrasound and bloodword                                   done to confirm the pregnancy.

 

December 2012 - Routine 10 week ultrasound discovered there was only the sac and                                 fetal poles with no development from October. I had miscarried at                                 2-3 weeks already and was scheduled for a D&C that night. 

 

February 2013 - Decided to begin trying again.

 

July 2013 - Expected due date of first pregnancy.

 

December 2013 - Went in to OB as it had been a year since our last pregnancy. Was                                 placed on clomid (50mg) - BFN

 

January 2014 - Second round of clomid (50mg) - BFN

 

February 2014 - Third round of clomid (50mg) and refered to fertility clinic.

 

March 2014 - Had first appointment with fertility clinic and the testing began. Was                            diagnosed with PCOS.

 

April 2014 - First treatment cycle with clomid (50mg) and ovidrel trigger shot mid-way                      - BFN

 

May 2014 - Second treatment cycle with clomid (50mg) and ovidrel trigger shot mid-                       way - BFN

 

June 2014 - Third treatment cycle with clomid (50mg), did not respond, had HSG test                       done to evaluate my fallopian tube and came back clear, upped clomid to                     100mg.

 

July 2014 - Mid-cycle pregnyl trigger shot - BFN

 

July 2014 - August 2014 - Summer holidays are here and the doctor is on vacation so a                     break from treatment for the summer.

 

August 2014 - Started new cycle leading to IUI. Began taking 100mg of clomid and                                  then an injection to increase the speed of the follicle develpment.

 

September 2014 - IUI ROUND 1 and progesterone for two weeks.

 

October 2014 - IUI ROUND 2  and progesterone for two weeks

 

October 2014 - Negative results and Matt and I decided to take a month off. This                                     fertility stuff can be tiring.

 

November 2014 - Ready to start out last unmedicated cycle with IUI. Continued      
                               taking 100mg of clomid and then an ovidrem injection.

 

December 2014 - Negative results and going to enjoy Christmas in Florida

 

February 2015 - Ready to start a medicated cycle of IUI. Doctor started us on 50 mg of
                            Gonal f. First time having to take daily shots. (ouch!) We had out IUI
                             procedure with one mature egg using ovidrel once again as a release
                             trigger.

 

April 2015 - Another break but this time to do an AGH test to see what my reserve is
                     like and making the plans for IVF.

 

May 2015 - Here we go! Started taking puregon, menopur and once follicles were
                    maturing I began taking centrotide to keep them from ovulating. That
                    makes it 3-5 shots a day!

 

May 15, 2015 - After ultra sound there are 20 follicles that are at a large enough size                                for my scheduled retrieval. 

 

May 17, 2015 - Egg retrieval day!! Doctor was able to retrieve all 20 eggs!

 

May 22, 2015 - Heard from the Fertility Clinic that 16/20 eggs were mature to fertilize.                             14/16 of the eggs fertilized and began splitting and at day 5 blastocyst                              stage we have 10 blastocysts for freezing!! YEAH! 

 

July 28, 2015 - Had bloodwork and ultrasound and we are all set for retrieval. Starting                             taking estrace (4mg) and in two days start progesterone! Count down is                           on - 5 MORE DAYS!

 

August 4, 2015 - Blastocyst TRANSFER DAY! Technically pregnant! Waiting 10 days till                                   pregnancy test.
